Who is this group for?

If you are a therapist who is new to DBT, has foundational knowledge of DBT or are currently utilizing DBT and want to enhance your clinical practice, this group will help you build mastery.

 Learn the fundamental theory and skills of DBT in this weekly didactic group for therapists with basic knowledge of DBT. Over the course of 10 weeks, you will learn about the origins of DBT, understand the main stages of treat­ment, and gain a thorough understanding of the primary skill modules and clinical concepts.

This group is beneficial for therapists that are currently utilizing DBT and have a foundational understanding of DBT's principles and skill modules.

This group will connect you to other clinicians, reduce feelings of isolation as you work from home, provide skills that you can use with your clients and apply to yourself, and provide you with essential regular contact with the DBT model.

  • DBT origins: Biosocial Theory and the Dialectical Theory

  • DBT stages of treatment (life-threatening, tx-interfering, quality-of-life interfering bxs)

  • Reciprocal and irreverent communication and therapists’ use of self

  • 3 levels of self-validation

  • Behavior chain analysis and solution analysis

  • Interpersonal effectiveness

  • Emotion regulation

  • Distress tolerance

Meet the Facilitator

Abby Levin received her master's in clinical social work from the University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. She has over 6 years of extensive DBT experience in both higher level of care treatment and private practice settings. Abby has facilitated individual, group, and multi-family DBT treatment, and has led several DBT didactics for continued education training.
